More About Lutherwood Camp

Additional Information

Mission Statement: (who we are)

In partnership with Western Washington Lutheran Congregations, Lutherwood is a year-round outdoor ministry, renewing all in the Holy Spirit through education, adventure, service, and prayer.

Vision Statement: (what we do)

Lutherwood will provide a time and place apart within God's creation for all to experience the love of Jesus Christ.

What Lutherwood Believes: (and teaches)

We "confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe." We are saved by the grace of God alone -- not by anything we do;

Our salvation is through faith alone -- we only need to believe that our sins are forgiven for Christ's sake, who died to redeem us;

The Bible is the sole source and norm for faith and life.

About Lutherwood:

Lutherwood is nestled in the evergreen trees along the north shore of Lake Samish about 10 miles South of Bellingham, Washington. Since our beginning in 1946, Lutherwood has been running programs for campers of all ages on our 103 acres of beautiful waterfront and forest land. Lutherwood is the perfect place for summer camp opportunities, family camping, retreats all year round, family reunions, assemblies and various other gatherings.

The welcoming community of Lutherwood will provide a time and place set apart within God's creation for all to experience the love of Christ.  Each person who enters the gates of Lutherwood becomes a part of the rich history found in this unique ministry.

High and low challenge course opportunities, NEW Blob to play on at the waterfront, 44' climbing tower with zip line off the top, canoeing, hiking, worship, renewal, and community are all things found within the gates of Lutherwood. Join us in another year of celebration in the name of our Creator!

Who Supports Lutherwood:

Lutherwood is supported by Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregations in Western Washington. Lutherwood is also supported by numerous individuals who have a heart and passion for outdoor ministry. A special thanks to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for their ongoing generous support.
