Outdoor Education Programs for Schools

Lutherwood’s 105 acres and lakefront access are an ideal backdrop for the kind of hands-on learning that makes growing up in western Washington so special!

We are now booking public and private schools for day or overnight adventures for the 2026-2027 school year. Contact us at (360) 734-7652 or office@camplutherwood.org to learn more!

There are numerous environmental educational opportunities to be found at Lutherwood!

Our miles of hiking trails, waterfront access, large fields, capable staff, and additional facilities help make your group feel like they can experience the outdoors with many of the comforts of home. We’d love to talk further about how Lutherwood can offer the perfect setting for your educational program.

Sample offerings of Lutherwood-led environmental education:

Water Ecology - Students can learn about the water cycle and have the opportunity to explore our creeks for macro- invertebrates. We also have a Salmon Stream that students are able to observe!

Botany - Lutherwood has an abundance of flora and fauna such as skunk cabbage, stinging nettle, ferns, and horsetail that students can experience.

Geology - Students study the structure of the earth and different types of rock and then have the opportunity to go out on the trails and experience weathering, erosion and types of rock themselves.

Ecology - Students get to observe many animals (rabbits, birds, bald eagles) at Lutherwood and learn how they interact with each other and the environment.

Exploration - This is a time for students to experience the outdoors on their own, recording what they see, hear, smell, and feel.

Team Building - Students are given challenges that require them to work together to accomplish a task.

Camp activities that can added by request - Swimming (weather-permitting), Climbing Wall, Canoeing, Kayaking, Archery, Field Games, Campfire.

We can accommodate many group sizes and needs, whether you are looking at a weekday or a weekend, a day event of a few hours or several overnights.

Contact us at (360) 734-7652 or office@camplutherwood.org with your specific requests; we are happy to see what we can do, together!
